Preventing Child Abuse & Neglect: The Power of Community 2013 Prevention Summit is scheduled for Oct. 16-17, 2013, at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel. The 2013 Prevention Summit will launch with half-day intensive institutes of learning, followed by a full day of workshops, general sessions, and a community building dialog (world café).
Prevention Summit institutes and workshops will focus on innovative strategies, research-informed practices, and strategic partnerships that foster safety, permanence, and child and family well-being in the family strengthening field. The conversation (world) café will bring together the diversity of the prevention community across California to share wisdom and insights, and to spark commitment and ability to make a collective impact to strengthen families and communities through prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Ten Continuing Education credits will be offered at the Summit by the co-sponsor, the Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma.
Event sponsors include California Alliance member agencies Youth for Change and Children’s Bureau, and Interface Children & Family Services, California Department of Social Services, Institute of Violence, Abuse and Trauma, and Strengthening Organizations Strategies to Support Families & Communities.
