Alliance-member agency Family Care Network will be hosting two training events in San Luis Obispo this May for Foster Family Agencies.

A two-day training is scheduled for May 4 and 5 for SAFE (Structured Analysis Family Evaluation), which is a Consortium for Children’s standardized home study methodology that has revolutionized the way both public and private child welfare agencies study and evaluate prospective adoptive, kin and foster families. SAFE aids home study practitioners in performing thorough, structured and uniform evaluations of families who have applied to foster or adopt.

A one-day SAFE Supervisor’s Training is scheduled for May 7, for attendees who also attended the two-day SAFE training. The SAFE Supervisor’s Training is targeted at Front Line Supervisors who are responsible for the on-going Supervision of Home Studies.  The one-day training provides guidance as to how to Supervise SAFE in the most effective manner.  The training provides a road map for the supervision of SAFE as well as tips, supports and suggestions to make the process easier.
