A Model that Offers Help in Retaining Foster Parents and Stabilizing Placements

Through a collaboration between THE MOCKINGBIRD SOCIETY™, Walter S. Johnson Foundation, Edgewood Center for Children and Families, and the California Alliance, we will be bringing to you an opportunity to learn about MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™, an empowerment-based approach to delivering foster care that reflects how communities have cared for children for generations – as an extended family. Participants will learn about the MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™ structure and how it works, the research evidence behind the model, and hear from peer partners, international and local, who have implemented MBF. The event is free to the public, and will take place Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Edgewood Center, in San Francisco. For more information and to register, go to this LINK.

 Alliance Members Recognized for Work With LGBTQ Youth and Families

Several Alliance member agency are recognized for their work with LGBTQ youth and families in a new report by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, which highlights more than 70 child welfare agencies across the country that partnered with the HRC Foundation’s All Children - All Families project to improve the services they provide to the LGBTQ community. To see the report, go to this VIEW REPORT.
