The Human Services Leadership Institute has scheduled trainings entitled Essential Skills for Highly Effective Human Service Manager (Part 1 and Part 2) in Sacramento and Santa Monica in November

Nationally recognized leadership expert Tim Nolan will reviews several proven traits of highly effective human service managers. Part 1 covers how to create a positive and empowering culture to maximize employee commitment and performance, how to effectively support staff, and how to lead with a vision. Part 2 focuses on the finer points of supervision to enhance staff performance, adapting to and managing change, utilizing critical thinking skills for staff, and how to effectively collaborate with internal and external professionals to achieve optimal results.

All attendees that attend both trainings will receive a copy of The Essential Handbook for Human Service Leaders.

In Sacramento, the training will be held at Alliance-member agency Stanford Youth Solutions on Nov. 4 and 5, and in Santa Monica, it’s scheduled for Nov. 7 and 8 at the YWCA Santa Monica at 2019 14th St. in Santa Monica. The times are 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and the cost is $125 per person per day. There are discounts for registering over five people or signing up for both days.
