The Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) is offering is offering PRIDE Model of Practice Implementation Training in Montebello, Calif., on Feb. 3-6, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PRIDE (Parent Resources for Information, Development and Education) is a 14-step model of practice to develop and support foster and adoptive (resource) families as partners in child protection. Additional information on the PRIDE Model of Practice is available at

This training is designed for anyone responsible for the recruitment, assessment, pre-service training, and selection of foster and adoptive (resource) parents, and for foster parent retention. Agency-based staff, college trainers and experienced foster and adoptive parents who train are welcome, as are all agency staff responsible for the assessment and selection of resource (foster and adoptive) parents who have an essential role as partners in child protection.

This training will be facilitated by Eileen Mayers Pasztor, DSW, who is a principal designer and one of the original PRIDE Model of Practice developers.
