The Fourteenth Annual Behavioral Health Information Management Conference and Exposition is scheduled for April 23-24, 2014, at the Marriott Marquis and Marina in San Diego.

A keynote presentation on the afternoon of Day One by Virna Little, PsyD, vice president for psychosocial services/community affairs, The Institute for Family Health, is entitled “Harnessing the Potential of EHRs: Clinical Decision Support to Enhance the Quality of Care.” She will describe many types of clinical decision support capabilities, the best approaches to installing and implementing them, and lessons learned from their implementations across many organizations.

The conference will feature many other sessions over a two-day period, among them a closing keynote entitled “Using Performance and Outcome Measures for Enhancing the Quality of Behavioral Health Care Services.” Richard Rawson, PhD, director of UCLA’s Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, and Dennis Morrison, PhD, member of the Software and Technology Vendors Association and chief clinical officer for Netsmart, will provide examples of mental health and substance use measures that can provide meaningful information on consumer perceptions of their treatment experiences and their outcomes across several dimensions.

They will also demonstrate some of the many uses of data analytic software with visual displays that are making it easier for managers to generate their own reports.
