Deputy Director of Training
Ivon Favela is the Catalyst Center Deputy Director of Training, leading the training team on overseeing the design, delivery and evaluation of our training program for learners across the state who seek to enhance their knowledge and skills to care for vulnerable children, youth and families.
Ivon has over 20 years of experience in training, with a focus on resource family development, intensive services and LGBT+ affirming practices for staff. Before joining the California Alliance's Catalyst Center, she was the lead trainer and approval specialist at an FFA in southern California, where she successfully trained over 1000 families. Ivon holds a master's degree in public administration from California State University Northridge.
She specializes in training development, evaluation and marketing strategies. Ivon is also certified in Non-Profit management, with specific interest in workforce wellness. At the Catalyst Center, Ivon has significantly increased online course engagement by 90% and played a pivotal role in transitioning the organization to new learning platforms to expand catalog growth, including self-paced, on-demand and micro-course learning. Her innovative strategies have been instrumental in shaping the organization's online e-learning presence.
In her free time, Ivon enjoys painting, spending time with her fur baby and relaxing with a cup of coffee and a good book. She believes in the mantra, "Whatever is good for your soul, do THAT” and “Learn the rules like a pro, break them like an artist.”
