Meagan Youngblood
Catalyst Intern
Meagan Youngblood (she/her) is a Master of Social Work student at Boise State University completing her advanced practicum with Catalyst Center, where she will be supporting the Open Doors team in mezzo- and macro-level work. A first-generation college graduate, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from San Francisco State University.
Born and raised in rural Northern California, Meagan has dedicated more than ten years to serving children and families in Oakland and across the East Bay, including two years as a full-time AmeriCorps volunteer in West Oakland. Her professional path has included direct-service roles, youth and family support, and program leadership. Meagan approaches her work with curiosity and intentionality, exploring the intersections of physical and mental well-being, social determinants of health, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and the neurobiology of trauma and healing. Rooted in a commitment to all facets of social justice, she brings both lived experience and professional dedication to her work.
Outside of her professional life, Meagan enjoys 35mm photography, reading, and playing videogames. She shares her home with her partner, two dogs (on purpose) and two cats (by happy accident) and finds joy and restoration in nature, especially through exploring National Parks.
