Sam Suarez

Samantha Suarez is the Communications Project Manager at the Catalyst Center. She brings a decade of experience in communications, storytelling, and digital strategy.

Before joining the CA Alliance, Samantha served as a Senior Communications Specialist at the Environmental Defense Fund, where she supported national campaigns focused on climate-smart agriculture and environmental justice. Prior to that, she managed communications for Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., leading award-winning marketing and storytelling initiatives that celebrated local culture and community placemaking. Her writing has also been published in Grand Rapids Magazine, where she covered the city’s vibrant food and culture scene.

Born in the United States and raised in Manila, Philippines, Samantha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Media, Culture & Technology with a minor in Creative Writing from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

Outside of work, she enjoys tending to her garden, playing story-driven video games, analyzing films, and spending time with her two rescue dogs.
