Senior Policy Advocate - Behavioral Health

Divya Shiv is the Senior Policy Advocate of Behavioral Health Policy at the California Alliance of Child and Family Services. In this role, she advances legislative and budgetary policy priorities that strengthen California’s behavioral health system for children, youth, and families.

Divya brings several years of experience in policy advocacy and coalition-building across health, housing, and equity sectors. Before joining the Alliance, she served as the Senior Policy Advocate for Homelessness at Housing California, where she led advocacy efforts to reduce homelessness statewide. She previously worked on statewide public health policy advocacy in New Mexico and began her career as a behavioral health therapist supporting children with developmental disabilities.

Divya holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Psychology from Haverford College.
